- Your page description is so compelling and "clickable" that you beat the average and get an 8% click through rate
- Google interprets this as a positive vote (like an inbound link with anchor text) about the relevancy of your page to the search terms
- Google will then promote your site up in the ranks (which probably will result in an even higher click through rate and a significant increase in web traffic -- see the chart below for some benchmark averages
