Using adwords to promote Youtube views

Google is going to try to start making money from YouTube (which is probably good news for share holders). Check it out at Google's blog.

Google's plan is to use their contextual advertising network as a way to allow video producers to promote their Youtube hosted videos.

I have not yet seen how the ads look but I guess they will be hybrid combo of a display ad and text ad. Its an interesting combo you see on Facebook a lot. I suppose the text part is how Google will determine the "relevance" of the ad and perhaps use it to determine some sort of quality score mechanism. But how will they be able to monitor the content of the videos to ensure the video corresponds to the text portion?

Google's AI algorithm is language/text based... it can't read an image or video and determine the content adheres to any rules or guidelines. This could open up the way for some very inappropriate juxtapositions.Google's announced plan should be great news for the info-mercial crowd and a potential boondoggle for video houses everywhere.

No doubt we are going to start seeing lots of web ads for miracle kitchen devices and workout solutions.

Any thoughts?
