Email Copy Mistake No. 5 - No Reason To Respond

Email copy that does not give the reader a specific reason to act or respond will get fewer click throughs. Learn a quick technique for getting your readers to take action now rather than later.

Most people will tend to put off making decisions for a later time. They may even honestly intend to revisit the question later... but very few will ever actually get around to it. They will forget and move on. Your email message has a very short shelf life.

Email copy should give readers a compelling reason to act now.

Review you email and ask yourself another hard question: will my reader feel like they are missing out it they don't respond immediately? What can I add to this offer to get readers to act now?

Deadlines are a key method for driving action and you should make sure that you use them. You should also consider quantity based deadlines as well as time based deadlines.

  1. Time based deadlines: meaning you can buy the product or service within a specific time frame
  2. Quantity based deadlines: meaning there are only a specific number of units available, so you can only buy while supplies last

Give your readers a reason to act now and let them know that they're going to miss out on something amazing if they don't act fast.
